Three disciplines most Northern Virginia homes need — veneer, patios, walkways.
Fitted, cut, and pointed by hand. Summit's stonework covers the three disciplines most Northern Virginia homes call for — stone veneer, stone patios, and stone walkways. Each is set on a properly prepared base, to the tolerances stone earns by lasting a hundred years.

DISCIPLINES
Three disciplines.
- 01 Thin-cut stone applied to existing surfaces.
Stone Veneer
Stone veneer is a thin layer of natural or manufactured stone set against an existing surface — a wall, a chimney, an entry column. It reads as full stone but weighs a fraction of it, which widens where and how it can be used.
- 02 Cut, dry-fit, and pointed on a settled base.
Stone Patio
A stone patio is as much about what's under the stone as what's on top. Proper base preparation, drainage, and joint detail are what separate a patio that reads as craft from one that heaves, stains, and shifts in its first winter.
- 03 Paths that carry traffic without heaving.
Stone Walkways
A walkway is a small patio that has to move people — which means every joint, every edge, and every inch of base has to carry foot traffic and shed water. The material you pick is a character decision; how it's set is a longevity decision.
We work across Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the District. Every stonework project starts with a site visit and a written estimate.
